Re: Assigning a mouse click to a Space Navigator Button

Those lines are not from the current cfg file format. Those are from the old .scg files. That's not XML and will probably cause that file to not be readable. For normal use, the 3DxSmartUI GUI should do what you want. If you want to do something outside the capabilities of 3DxSmartUI, I'll probably ...

Re: SpaceMousePRO SDK

The device is a standard USB device. You can access the device through standard Windows APIs. In that case you don't need to run / install our driver or use our API. But, you do give up a lot of flexibility. In particular, you are more or less tied to a specific device. If your users buy a different...

Re: 3dConnection Enterprise random drifting in every axis

We ship a program called "3DxTest" in the 3DxWinCore installation directory. Run that and tell me what you see. You should see values from the 6 axes. Is one of the more active than the others. Then, as tech support suggested, you can calibrate it using the shortcut in the 3Dx systray icon. That sho...

Re: SpaceMousePRO SDK

Hi Ismail,

There is an API function that will grab the device so your application does not need to have focus.

Code: Select all

SiGrabDevice(devHdl, SPW_TRUE);
While your application is running, all device events will go to it.

Re: SpaceMousePRO SDK

Hello Ismail,

That's the wrong SDK. The SpaceMouse Module is an industrial controller device we sell that is just the cap without the base and buttons.
I'll have a talk with the web site designer to see how we can make the more clear.
The correct SDK is called something like "3DxWare SDK".

Re: 8 sections radial menu barely usable :(

Sorry. That didn't make it in to 10.6.3. It is fixed in the next public release. No, I have no idea when that will be.

Re: Puck mapping

There is no GUI for it, so while it basically works, it is limited, untested and a lot of manual XML editing is required. There is a long thread here . Fundamentally you have to tell the driver which keys to send and when. It's best to start with some copy & paste from samples we ship. The KeyboardW...

All axes at once?
There is a Disable Rotations option that can be assigned to a button in the Buttons panel of the GUI.

Hello EricM81,

It would help me make the case if I had a list of the applications you use which use the Surface Dial.

Thanks,

Re: Bug: 3DxService.exe constantly reading on disk

Hi Hoegge,

I've made a note to look at that. It is part of a general cleanup I'm undertaking.
It's nice to have customers who care enough about the product to bring up these issues.

Re: I have a few questions I want to ask

Our new cfg file includes both exe names so it should be used with both executables. But you probably need to delete your two saved user files (%appdata%\3dconnexion\3dxware\cfg\Altium and X2 cfg files) and restart our driver. You can merge your files manually if it is particularly important to keep...

Re: Space Mouse Enterprise...twisting the knob forces the other axis to zero

This is a hardware limitation. There is interference inside the mechanism when you get to the extremes. You can feel it. It is only completely linear in all 6 DOF toward the center of the movement. I don't have an actual number, but I'd guess +/- 250. The device is meant to be used with fairly littl...

Re: SpaceMouse Enterprise will 0 an axis if it's held steady for too long

The auto-calibrate function is mainly for a startup problem. If the user has something resting on the device cap when it boots it will save that as its center position. When the user removes the object the cap will return to its mechanical center, and it will calculate that the user is pushing it in...

Re: As a 2D Mouse too, on Windows 10?

2D mode should work with any 3D mouse.
Try your SpaceMouse Wireless with a USB cable.
The Grab is the most important part. If you let the driver follow focus, it will switch out of the 2D mode.
