Re: Altium 19 Spacemouse wireless

That's very impressive that you created those extra cfg files w/o instructions. There are a few things to check. 1) Hover over the 3Dx systray icon when in the various modes to see if it is really using the correct file. The log file will also list what it is doing. 2) There have been changes betwee...

Re: Space Navigator 3d mouse to work as MIDI

I think you should be able to use the joystick mode of the 3DxWinCore driver in place of the RBC9 driver. IIRC, he converted the 3D mouse data into joystick data. The driver can now do that. Is there src available for this 3DxMIDIGator.dll? I'd like to add MIDI output to the 3DxWinCore driver, but I...

Re: can't reenable rotation (in solidworks)

I'd like to see both.
The new file that was created and the .3dxz file it started with.

Thanks.

Re: Config files for Games, WASD & hotkeys

Generally you want to do it for each game. It keys off the ExecutableName.
You could modify global.xml, but then you would affect all applications.

Re: As a 2D Mouse too, on Windows 10?

Hi arch_jdreyes, You can delete that wetransfer file now. I found some problems: 1) The Desktop_2DMouse.xml file is not correct. 2) The Desktop_2DMouse.xml file is in the wrong dir. It can not be in %APPDATA%. The best place for it is %PROGRAMDATA%/3Dconnexion/3DxWare/Cfg. Delete it from %APPDATA%/3...

Re: Swiveling left and right

I don't know the Rhino terminology for most of this. I asked our developer who wrote the Rhino plugin. From what he said, you can define different cameras in Rhino (nothing to do with the 3D mouse). Probably the 3D mouse controls whatever Camera you define in a scene. The characteristics of that cam...

Re: Swiveling left and right

There are different types of cameras in Rhino. Sorry I don't know what they are called in Rhinospeak. The target camera rotates around a point out if front of you. There's a different type of camera that rotates about your position. You probably want to switch to that camera. That makes it much easi...

Re: As a 2D Mouse too, on Windows 10?

Yak_Forger38, There is a ButtonAction to swap back and forth between the cfg being used by the current application and the Desktop cfg. It is not normally exposed but it can be used. You can copy it from Base.xml. Its name is "Driver_Desktop_ToggleGrab". All it does is set and unset the Hard Grab el...

Re: As a 2D Mouse too, on Windows 10?

arch_jdreyes, "Collect System Information" writes the zip file. Uncheck "Include dmp files" to make the file small enough to email. If you want to permanently reassign these buttons, changing the Desktop cfg (with the Hard Grab) is the best way to do it. The GUI ("Properties") will not help you. You...

Re: As a 2D Mouse too, on Windows 10?

Hi arch_jdreyes, The GUI doesn't know much about these advanced settings. It's likely to get confused. What do you want to do? Permanently reserve SMW left & right for 2D mouse left & right? That is, they will never change regardless of which application you switch into? And the cap? What should it ...

Re: Multiple devices initialize in unity

The demo cfg file contains a 4x scale factor. If you do your own cfg file you can make it what you want.
If you must limit the values to +/- 1, then clamp them in your code.

I don't understand what you are asking in the second question.

Re: Is there any difference between...

The "cap" is currently the same on all devices. Some of the differences are the stability of the device because of the larger base, and the LCD that tells you what the programmable buttons do, particularly if they change with the mode of the application. Of course, there are more buttons for your us...

Re: Multiple devices initialize in unity

You can never count on the range of values of the devices. A user can always scale them behind your back. The raw values are in the +/- 350 range, though it depends on the default cfg file that is used by your application if they are subsequently scaled. We always make them work without changing any...

Re: Old Spacepilot button configuration

Could be a cfg format issue. Make sure you don't try to mix in plugins/cfgs from a more recent version (e.g., the current version). The driver's log file may say something about what is going wrong. Turn it on with the 3Dx systray icon. The file is: %localappdata%\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\3DxService.log....
