Re: Help Needed

The devices are readable with the standard Microsoft Direct Input API.
Microsoft has sample code to do this.
If their code is not sufficient, sign up as a developer and I can email you some sample code to get you started.
It may need modifications to work with such an old version of C++.

Re: 2D only - Spacemouse compact VS Sapcemouse pro

The SpaceMouse Compact only has two buttons. You can assign the same RotationLock function to one of those buttons. By default we have those two buttons to bring up Radial Menus. You can put the RotationLock function in those radial menus (4 or 8 slices). Or you can use one button for the single Rot...

Re: Calibration Space Mouse Pro

Hopefully that is not something you need to do very often. If it is, there's a problem.

Our SDK has an API function to perform this same task (SiRezero).
There is no kb shortcut.
It can also be assigned to a device button, or a Radial Menu slice, with the Driver_RezeroDevice internal function.

Re: Developer account no longer works

Hi DonM, It probably is the old ProgramData cfg file. The %localappdata%/.../3DxService.log file will say. I can't update those on disk, like I can with AppData files. No write access. PD distribution isn't something we encourage. I never wanted to do that. This is just one more example of why not. ...

Re: CadMouse cannot get SI_IS_EVENT

If you are trying to run another plugin while our Solid Edge plugin is running, you will have problems. The driver will only communicate with one or the other. It is best to use the driver's built-in capabilities to do this. You can create a Macro that adds a Modifier to the Middle Mouse button (Shi...

Re: As a 2D Mouse too, on Windows 10?

The driver saves the changes made by the user in %appdata%/3dconnexion/3dxware/cfg. But if you have Desktop_2DMouse.xml grabbed, only that file will be used. You can change the scaling in there if you wish. If you are switching in/out of the Desktop_2Dmouse cfg then you can use the GUI to change the...

Hi DonM,

While we sort through your account and email problems, I'll try to help you with your application problem.

What application is it?
Which driver version broke it and what happened?

Re: Altium Designer: SpaceNavigator settings not working with any app

Good to read it straightened itself out.

We did test it this morning and could not find a problem. I'm not sure if we tested the overinstallation you did.

Thanks for contacting us.

Re: Bug: 3DxService.exe constantly reading on disk

Hello Hoegge, Yes, it does, and for the reasons you guessed. It is overkill. It adds up. If nothing changed it should do nothing. What's nothing though? If neither the focus HWND nor the HWND under the cursor changed, that probably is "nothing". I can look again at optimizing it. If nothing else, a ...

Re: Altium Designer: SpaceNavigator settings not working with any app

Interesting. That should have worked. We tested this with Altium when they were in beta. Possibly something changed for release. Deleting the %AppData%\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\Cfg\Altium* files should have cleared any possible cases of not using the correct file. Can you run our Diagnostics program (3Dx...

Delete that file in %APPDATA% and it should start working.

Re: Spacemouse wireless as a normal mouse

There is no standard way to use the cap to change. That's a good idea though. It would require custom software on someone's part. That software would have to capture the data from a 3d mouse axis and, perhaps, trigger this action if it exceeded some threshold. Driver_Desktop_ToggleGrab is defined in...

Re: Can SpaceMouse be used as regular mouse

Yes it can. It doesn't make a great 2D mouse. It's like a joystick with all the same limitations. It's difficult to stop on a pixel.

Re: Spacemouse wireless as a normal mouse

To send 2D mouse events, you need to tell the driver to send HIDMouse_X/Y Output Actions for the 3D Input Axes, as such <AxisBank Default="true"> <Name>STR_DEFAULT_BANK</Name> <ID>Default</ID> <Axis> <Enabled>true</Enabled> <Input> <ActionID>HIDMultiAxis_Rx</ActionID> <Min>-512</Min> <Max>511</Max> ...

Re: Programs on Spacepilot Pro screen

You were still running the beta software? One big difference from then is that you now can not edit a cfg w/o having the application running and in focus. Your old cfg files may be upgraded successfully. There have been several cfg format versions since the beta. Keep a copy of your old files. I'll ...
