Beta 4

Postby BeCamilo » Thu Apr 07, 2011 10:17 am

I tried to installed it, but I still see the Beta 3.
I uninstalled the driver and tried again with no luck.
it is the beta 3, or at least that was what I downloaded a few minutes ago.

I'm still unavailable to install the beta 4, even tough the name of the file is beta 4, i'm only installing the beta 3, I don't know if the problem is in my computer.

For 3DxWare 10 betas, we recommend uninstalling the old beta driver prior to installing the new one. To uninstall the driver, run /Applications/3Dconnexion/Uninstall 3Dconnexion Driver

Downloaded and installed "3DxWare 10 Beta 4 (Mac OS X)" but indeed after installation and checking the Tools tab (or pane or how you call it) it shows Driver version 10.0.3

To add to this: I didn't have a previous beta installed on my Mac, only the last official version 1.6.3

Thanks for pointing out the version inconsistency. We have confirmed the version number was not incremented properly in Beta 4 and remained at 10.0.3. However, we've also confirmed that the contents of the beta are correct and indeed have all the changes that were meant to be part of Beta 4.

Sorry for this confusion.

SpacePilot support???

Postby gje73 » Mon Jul 04, 2011 8:31 pm

Well, the last beta release for OS X was back in April. This project seems to be stagnant. I would really like to know whether work is going to continue on Beta 10 sometime soon, in particular adding original SpacePilot support under OS X. The Windows support is good, but I would like to use my device with OS X as well.

Can someone in the know please update us on the status?

Work is on-going. We have a more stable release, so you will see less frequent updates.

I'm sorry but we have no plans to bring SpacePilot (1st generation) support to our 3DxWare 10 for Mac. This device was not officially supported on the Mac and was discontinued over a year ago.

this would be very lousy for a growing number of people who now switch to Mac and love their SP. I´m a student of engineering and I´ve would even pay for the SP Support, but to buy a SP Pro only for Mac support would not happen, especially because of the ignorance of 3DConnex in this Chase.

To give an idea of compromise:
Coud you implement an unofficial Support for the KEY´s of the SP ? I don´t need the display, but it would be very sad to waste the existing Buttons on the SP. And the SP will be on my desk, with or without Mac support

Hi spam3d,

Have you tried connecting your SP on a Mac?

How would you like use your SP on the Mac? Are you considering using with Windows running in Paralells or Fusion, say?
