SpacePilot Pro Properties error loop

Running Win7 64bit with my SPPro works fine, except the "FIT" button in SolidWorks no longer works. It's been awhile that I've put up with it, but just frustrated now after uninstalling and reinstalling the beta drivers. Here's what happens.

Whenever I try to get into the Properties I get an endless loop error of "Button:ReadFromXml:Button missing either Input.Action or Output.Action"

this comes up immediately when I launch the properties and I have to manually kill the app. The FIT button works well in my Bluebeam Revu software, so not sure what's going on. Sounds like a corrupt profile or something, but the uninstall and reinstall doesn't clean it out which makes me think there is something stuck in the registry?

The path listed for Vista is also correct for Windows 7.
After using regedit to remove the registry keys listed , one additional registry key needs to be removed from the SolidWorks add-in keys.

In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE|Software|SolidWorks there is a folder named 'AddIns'. In the 'AddIns' folder the registry key for the 3Dconnexion add-in is the one that begins with "7B9E5...". Select this key on the left then look at the values on the right. You should see 3Dconnexion listed there. This will confirm that you have located the correct registry key that needs to be deleted .[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE|Software|SolidWorks|AddIns|7B9E5...] Removing this registry key will allow the Solidworks 2012 add-in to install correctly.

When you reach Step 8 of the clean install steps "Install the latest driver ..." make sure you are logged on from an administrator profile and that SolidWorks is closed. If you are using Windows 7 and SolidWorks was installed as administrator, an extra step is needed . Right-click on the 3Dconnexion driver installation file that you downloaded and saved to your PC and choose 'Run as Administrator'.

thanks Fred, I'll have to give that a try. Getting into the regedit is starting to become old hat for me, between Composer, SolidWorks, etc.

I'll let you know if that works.

This sounds like a corrupt Solidworks.xml file in %appdata%\3dconnexion\3dxware\Cfg. Try deleting it.
