Macro Writing Help

Postby YBW » Tue Apr 05, 2011 9:56 am

As a general question, will there be a macro writing section to the help? I love customizing my SPP's buttons, but the new editor has a different syntax. Some instructions here would be a big help.

Specifically, I want to add a keyboard "Tab" to several macros. But hitting the keyboard "Tab" moves me out of the editor window. Is there away to insert the keyboard "Tab" into a macro?

Adding a pause to a macro

Postby YBW » Tue Aug 16, 2011 8:14 am

I'm adding macros to my SPP in Win 7 Outlook 2010. The program sees the initial keystrokes (alt-x) because I can see the ribbon start to descend. But the subsequent keystrokes (Y11) seem to have no effect.

My guess is that the Y11 comes to quickly after the inital alt-x. In the bad old days I could add a couple pauses if I needed to slow things down. Is that capability available in the Version 10 Beta.

Thanks,
Alan

Update

In an effort to create a work around, I removed the Y11 keystrokes from the macro, leaving just the alt-x. My hope was to get the ribbon to open. From there I could use a second macro to input the Y11.

This did not fix the problem. The alt-x macro causes the ribbon to appear breifly and then disappear again.

Any thoughts?

Update 2

Postby YBW » Tue Aug 16, 2011 8:53 am

So, when I press alt-x in the keys window I can get two key progressions:

1) +Alt +X -X -Alt (This progression causes the ribbon to appear and then disappear.)

2) +Alt +X -Alt -X (This progression causes the ribbon to appear and stay.)

Can you direct me to an explanation?

Thanks,
YBW
