3Dconnexion space pilot stop working.

Postby HalasKYO » Fri May 11, 2012 4:17 am

Hi!
I used my space pilot with 3ds max 2011, and installed the 2012.
In 2012 the 3d mouse doesn't work. I try to upgrade wizard, but nothing.
I tryed to uninstall full, delete from registry and reinstall the newest.
Still the same problem, in tutorial it works, but in soft, doesn't.
Not work in 2011 and 2012.
Can you help me ?
Thanks!
Peter

To correct the problem you can use the clean install steps for the 3Dconnexion software at http://www.3dconnexion.com/faq/28 . The path listed for Vista is also correct for Windows 7.

If the Clean install does not add the 3DsMax plug-in, there are manual steps you can use:

On a 32-bit PC:

Copy the "3dxstd.dlu" file from C:-->Program Files-->3Dconnexion-->3Dconnexion 3DxSoftware-->3DxStudio32-->win32 -->3DsMax2012 to the "stdplugs" sub-directory of 3Ds Max.

Copy "3DxStudio.ms" from C:-->Program Files-->3Dconnexion-->3Dconnexion 3DxSoftware-->3DxStudio32 to the scriptsstartup sub-directory of 3Ds Max.

On a 64-bit PC:

Copy the "3dxstd.dlu" file from C:-->Program Files-->3Dconnexion-->3Dconnexion 3DxSoftware-->3DxStudio64-->x64 -->3DsMax2012 to the "stdplugs" sub-directory of 3Ds Max.

Copy "3DxStudio.ms" from C:-->Program Files-->3Dconnexion-->3Dconnexion 3DxSoftware-->3DxStudio64 to the scriptsstartup sub-directory of 3Ds Max.

The manual has a screenshot of the 3DsMax Pop-Up Menu. [Start, Programs,3Dconnexion,Documentation - Manuals
- English Manual - Supported Applications - Autodesk 3ds Max]

===============================================[Note: 3dsMax versions 9 through 2012 all use 3dxstd.dlu but the files are different and have a different file size
based on the year and version]

3DsMax9 : 2.06 MB
3DsMax2008 : 2.06 MB
3DsMax2009 : 2.07 MB
3DsMax2010 : 2.18 MB
3DsMax2011 : 2.18 MB
3DsMax2012 : 2.07 MB

Is this 3DxWare 10 (in beta) or the shipping driver?

I did everything like then you said, but it wont't work.
I tryed it in PhotoShop, it's work there, but in 3ds max, it do not.
The 3dxstd.dlu is 2,45MB 2512KB . What should be the problem ?
Why is my file size is bigger, if I use the

Release verzion: 3.15.3

Driver verzion: 6.15.3 3.18

Firmware verzion 3.18

It appears your running the Standard driver.
What OS?

Did you verify all the files are in the correct folders?
File size may very depending on Which driver you installed.
Can also be different due to language, or pc's identification of file size.

If your running Win 7 or Vista
Do you have 3dsmax running as administrator?
If so go to the startup folder
Locate Start 3dxware
right click and choose properties
select at the bottom of the screen run as administrator
Click save

Reboot

Make sure the 3D driver is running before opening 3dsmax
Open a file.
Click on the SpacePilot panel button does the Popup menu appear?
If so the addin is loaded.
Make sure Pause Motion is not checked if so click and it will uncheck and motion should be working.

I use 3ds MAX2012 on Win 7 64bit.
I run max as administrator.
The driver is english.

The driver is running when I start max.
When the max load up, there is a popup window with 3dconnexion preferencies descrtibe. But when I press a button on 3d mouse, the 3d connexion control panel open not he local pref.

Where can I find the stop motion button ?
What do you mean at this :
"If so go to the startup folder
Locate Start 3dxware " --> you are think on the "star driver"?
